IOWA is pleased to offer assistance to its members who are applying for judicial positions throughout the State of Iowa.
We encourage you to attend a "Bootcamp," which is offered approximately twice per year. Bootcamp is offered either in short form (morning only) or long form (morning and afternoon both) and is always held on a Saturday. The short form includes just the morning presentation on the process of applying, and analysis of former applicant interviews to study in depth what it takes to have a strong panel interview. The long form includes this same morning presentation, but adds mock interviews in the afternoon so attendees can practice their panel interview skills and receive feedback from volunteers. To see if there is a Bootcamp scheduled in the near future, you can go to our Events page and look at our upcoming events.
Any IOWA member who is applying for a judicial position and needs individual assistance with mock interviewing or application review is welcome to email our Professional Action chair, Christina Thompson, at christinat@watsonpc.com. IOWA has a pool of volunteers who are willing to do application review and mock interviews on an ad hoc basis. Please keep in mind that we are volunteers and standing up an interview group or application review group can take a few days, so we prefer to have at least two weeks notice of any request for assistance for an applicant.
